  4. Read some roms I have a set of each way nudger SRU roms that I want to verify and make copies of. The rom card is here and the EPROMs look worse for wear. They are from a £2 jackpot, £1.60 gamble ladder, 10p play machine. I had not seen version 26 before so was eager to make a copy. The programmer read all of the roms with no problems at all. I saved the bin files to my computer. Then tried the roms in the emulator to check that they work, unfortunately it wouldn’t boot. On further investigation I found that Rom 1 had quite a bit of corrosion on the legs and read as being empty. Maybe it wasn’t making a good contact with the programmer. Anyway I had a look in the downloads section under SRU and found a zip of random SRU roms that had been dumped in the past. I was quite happy to find a dump of EWN1A26.BIN. I added it to my other two files that I dumped and they ran up in the emulator without any issues. Just shows the power of the Mecca !! The programmer seems to work well and I’ll test the programming functionality when my 2708’s arrive. However, as the project has been built many times I have every confidence it will work. If anyone wants a board to build one themselves, let me know.

  5. Hi all Not sure if this is the right subforum for this, but they have an 'original' (ie. UK original) Pong machine in this RMC video, and they believe it was retrofitted into an ACE fruit machine cabinet. If anyone might know it's you folks! Here's the video, starting around the relevant part: Please either let RMC know directly, but please also post here and I should be able to get that info back to some arcade history guys - thanks for looking

  7. Hats off to @EddieC - this sort of stuff is painstaking work, thankfully we have the emulator from Chris (RIP man) - which allows for much faster testing of ROM hacks than if the changes had to be tested on real hardware each time I did get a few requests for this gamble block stuff, but I just did the CHR stuff for a bit of a diversion from other projects since it meant fruit machines could live again that otherwise would get broken up for parts... so I couldn't justify the time requirements for this gamble block type work. Like I said above, and I'm sure Eddie can fully attest to, it is absolutely and utterly painstaking, trying to find the relevant routines, then figure out the relevant patches - it's really low level hacking! (plus of course you might need to hack out checksums/chr along the way) - Great work Eddie, really good to see someone has taken this on (takes the pressure off me haha! Very few fruit machine rom hackers around these days)

  8. When we get the machine images (which we will ) then a dx will be made exclusively on here and desert island maybe fruit-emu too in the meantime your layout will do just fine not sure if I thanked you on this site, if not Thankyou for this unique layout keep em coming.. As @quattrohead states once a file is available on the net anyone from anywhere can do what they want with it, just a suggestion @Freedom if you don’t want people “tampering or nicking parts or f a layout” don’t release them and make your site a private closed site and not open to the general public that way no one who’s not in the club will get their grubby mitts on anything you have plain n simple or block every member from downloading on your site?

  9. Fuck me, this shit still bubbling up from time to time. Threats are a HUGE NONO. Freedom, you are a nasty piece of work, apparently. As soon as anything hits the interwebs, its public and anyone can do anything they want with it.

  10. Please do host it, on your site, I would hope that not all the members on Freedom Fruits, are as immature as you. It's not published, so can be as childish as you like with it as well.

  11. I agree with dad on this matter we shouldn't be arguing over machines etc and layouts we all thank each other and wearecity did say thanks to rom provider which is what most people on scene say thank you etc There's some who just download and not say anything or appreciate the work going into all layouts but as I mentioned on dif multiple layouts of same machine is fine as some people may like A colourful version and some may like a metallic type one everyone has a different preference like an example road hog There 2 layout I'll use as a example ploggy a Hi res dx back in 2010 ish early days and then there's a modern more coloured Version by ze frog
