Hi. I hope this might be of interest to some of you. I've not been able to find any.database for all the fruit machines produced so have spent the last few months compiling one myself from information I can find online. I’ve attempted to cover all the fruit machines made between late 70s (from 50p jackpot) and mid 2010s ie up to but not including the digital ones. It's not complete, but it's as far as I could get with all the information I could find online and it might well be that some of the machines listed on certain manufacturers are incorrect. At the front of the file is a summary sheets, summarising all the machines that I can find information on. In this database summary sheet, the column showing “Not confirmed” are the ones that.I found listed online on one general arcade site but could not find any other information immediately about them so are possible to be inaccurate. All the others I've been able to confirm by seeing a picture, a flyer, youtube vid or it being emulated. There are then two sheets which show all the machines which are basically the same with one sorted by.manufacturer and the other sorted alphabetically. All machines are then listed by manufacturer with an approximate date of manufacture based on the jackpot value taken from the gambling law updates. As I say, I hope you find this useful and if there are any ones that I've missed or inaccurate or missing information, feel free to let me know and I can update it. Cheers Greg Fruit Machine Database.xlsx4 points

Wow! I wish I'd have known.Your database before I started mine.I did look on the Desert Island Forum and did see mention of a database but couldn't find the link for it. Having said that, if I had, I'm not sure, I probably would have spent all the time I have on mine! Yours does look very similar to mine, albeit we've come from slightly different approaches as you'd expect from two different people trying to do the same thing. Yes, more than happy to have the two merged and the whole point of doing it was to share with the community anyway. So yes, happy to have it online wherever and certainly makes sense to have one central location for it. Yes, I'm very familiar with ipdb and of course.I'm sure you probably know that there's a very similar one.Arcade Museum for video games, and it's the lack of something similar for fruit machines which is what inspires me to try to create the database in the first place. However, I don't have the experience or knowledge to be able to create a website for it. No, mine is just a simple set of Excel sheets. I think it could be relatively easily loaded into a database like Access. I'm happy to do the work to merge the two although might take a while and maybe not till after the summer or if you could set up where you think the best location would be and as you say, we can both edit though I'm wondering whether it might be easy to edit first before having it on the central location. Of course, mine is missing some information, notably the.MPU type. Maybe best if we take the discussion to PM?2 points

Hi This looks like really great information! I did start a similar project over on the Desert Island Fruits forum, hosted as a public Google Sheet; https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wOMCTOBThxv8AgPYb-suvmM6AuXpqAOsVCyJUlofjvA/edit?gid=0#gid=0 It was a first attempt, as I think we could one day do with something more like: https://www.ipdb.org/search.pl Where it is a dedicated site with a backend... or maybe something more like a 'wiki' site...not sure. I'm not doing much on fruit machine projects right now due to a health issue... I wonder if we could perhaps merge these in some way... would you be interested in your database moving into an 'live online' version, like the Google Sheets approach or similar? With the Google Sheet you can set up multiple trusted 'Editors' who can then actually make changes to the sheet, the general public can only view it (not make changes as that would be chaos). Not sure if Google Sheets is the right approach, that's just the approach we used for easy online collaboration/live updates. Looking at your Excel sheet, is this all stored as an actual database (like an Access db or similar)? I did look before, but couldn't find a simple online database system, though I didn't go into much depth, as it can certainly be done, though I have other projects that take priority unfortunately... Very cool work anyway!2 points

Very much remember them but don’t recall bwb on them.one that springs to mind had a high point next to it at aust services by the Severn bridge, strange place that was, had like a few market stalls in there you could pop in for a piss and come out with a new leather jacket! Or a couple of hundred quid of pound coins if you were that way inclined.2 points

Picked this one up today! Not one I have heard of. Before I picked it up it booted into attract but rejected all coins, got it home still boots but reel symbols are flashing rapid on the win line all displays zero! Sure I seen this fault before? Anyway can’t get a game at the moment! Anyone seen played or owned one? Edit, it's started working now and taking coins, seems a fun game with the number feature, not paying out tho! cheers Ronnie1 point

Hi all hope you're all ok 🙂👍 had massive issues logging into my account on here, with passwords resets sent but not received, and not being able to log in view or commenting on people's projects really frustrating 😞 just found a very old note pad with my info on and logged back in, so currently sporting a third leg with excitement! Amazed the password resets didn't mess anything up! Man I'm chuffed it worked, now lots of catching up to do from the nearly 2 years missed 🫣1 point

I haven't had time to have a proper look through yours yet, though I see it appears to be a lot more complete (i.e: lots more machines), which is great! There is a user @spa who did a massive amount of work on the data entry, finding out official names for cabinet types where they exists, and linking up to his collection of flyer images too... I just got the ball rolling, as like you, wanted somewhere where all this kind of info could live for the community. I did see the arcade museum (formerly klov)... another site that could be a template since they open-sourced their underlying db code is: https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/ I think for now, since I don't really have the serious amount of time it'd take to learn web db stuff to implement, it is probably best to continue with the Google Sheets approach. It's certainly not ideal (compared to a true database), but it does provide free hosting, ability to give specific trusted people editing rights, easy for multiple editors to collaborate, intuitive to edit without needing to know about databases, etc. Well that would be amazing, if you have the time! And of course there's no rush on any of this, but it's super useful as a community resource (I have used and continue to use it as a reference already). I'd be happy to take a closer look into this, and perhaps set up a new Google Sheets doc (Fruit Machine Database 2!) - that can accommodate the various data fields from both of these databases as a starting point... I'd perhaps start that over the weekend. Happy to chat on PM either here or on Desert Island Fruits forum - and let's loop @spa into our PM to as he sink a massive amount of time into the Google Sheets fruit machine database I'll kick that off now, and keep you both posted on this initial work I'll do to set up the new merged db - hopefully tomorrow afternoon I'll at least get the project started1 point

Hey everyone. Hope you are all doing ok. Sorry I haven't posted for a while, but I promise to try harder to be more active on here as this place is The Mecca for spinning those classic reels😁 Had the pleasure of visiting Sulzers Palace yesterday, and managed to play on most of his machines in his collection. Great catching up as always and the added bonus of catching up with Rob T as well. Rob says he can't log in on here and has tried changing passwords. Hopefully someone can help him by messaging him with advice,as it would be good to see him back on here. Below is some video clips I put together for you to enjoy. Thanks Massive to Nick who always puts on a fantastic day for us. Of note....I didn't break any machines😂😂😂 I1 point

Made up some brass support posts to replace previously used spares - made a few extra if anyone else missing the odd one or two ... Original spec 1/4"/4BA hex, faced both ends in lathe then centre marked, drilled and finally tapped by hand to take original 6BA cheese-head screws as per factory. Approx. 6 pairs available, £6pr posted. (be doing some of the round corner posts next week - will add details when done)1 point
