Hi guys, I'm new here. Need some help with one of my machines, really hope you can help I got this old fruit machine, A Barcrest Road Hog with a MPU4. Was working fine until a couple a weeks ago. It had been on for 5-6 hours after I had played a bit. Suddently I noticed a sense of burned plastic i the room and I immediately pulled the power cord (the display was also frozen and no lamps were blinking).. Opened up the back door, and it turned out to be the payout mechanism. I dont know how this happened, but somehow the coil which triggers the plunger have been burned. Maybe the voltage did not cut off after last payout and it heated up and the mechanism melted. See picture: http://i.imgur.com/53ILb.jpg I powered up the machine once again and It booted fine. Everything seemed to work great. Except payout of course, just beeping while pushing collect-button. Anyhow. I got a new payout mechanism, replaced the burned one with a new one. Also replaced the MPU with a another one, just in case it was a bad transistor or something causing the burning of the coil. The machine did not boot up at this time, so i suspected the "new" MPU not to be working properly. Installed the old MPU again and the machine booted up as normal. But now there is something wrong with the lamps. I dont know why but the wrong lamps are lit while playing. I.ex. the hi/lo buttons blink instead of the step buttons and the feature mode "road" is not as its supposed to be lit up while advancing. Also, it does not pay out. Only beeping noises while pushing collect. Now to the questions Is this error with the lamps connected to the program card anyhow or just the MPU? Could my program card be broken? I believe at this point I have 2 faulty MPU's... Is there anything I need to be aware of while installing a third one? Is there a device I can use to test my MPUs for errors, like a computer program and a parallell cable? What is the difference between MOD2 and MOD4? Thanks for any response!
