Hi,
So my Bell Fruits scorpion 4 DOND big reds machine is showing signs that the Varta 3.6V battery may be starting to leak. I've purchased a new one and some mini breadboards and will get it off the motherboard and fly lead out the way ASAP.
But today I noticed the game card (it has 4 chips on it, 2 game and 2 sound chips by the looks of it), also has a smaller Varta 2.4V 80H battery. This one looks pretty bad - the varta casing has started to split.
Stupid question, but do people do the same with this battery? I have 10 mini breadboards so if I source a replacement 2.4V battery, I should be able to do similar,
If so, what is the correct procedure once i power back on - will the machine alarm or is simply removing the battery a bit of a RAM clear - I guess sound volume setting may be lost etc,?
Also - another stupid question, but how do you remove the game cards from the motherboard? Do they just pull out??
Thanks,
Si.
edit: added a picture of the new 3.6V battery I have ready with the mini breadboard which was thanks to a member (@Jonno) posting on here about how he wanted a quick switch mechanism. Thanks!!
